Oswego State

Many of you may not know that I have the photography contract for SUNY Oswego Athletic department. Every season (fall, winter, spring) I take every coach and players head shot, the entire team shots, and at least 1 game of action shots of each team, it sure keeps me busy. It is nice to have a change of pace once and a while though! Last weekend every winter sport had a home game/match. I was at the college on Friday night for the Men's ice hockey game, just to return Saturday from 1-10pm for swimming, wrestling, woman's basketball, men's basketball, and woman's ice hockey.

Here are some photos from the Men's ice hockey game vs. Morrisville on Friday Nov. 14th. Before you see those here is a preview shot from our photo shoot we had yesterday at Hotel Syracuse. 6 models, 20 photographers, 3 hours, 1 huge hotel... it was a lot of fun!

Reminicing

I took a few minutes to myself tonight to look at old photos. Here are some random photo. This weekend Isaac will be at Fort Drum doing the ARMY thing while I will be photographing 6 sporting events out at the college. It should be a pretty busy weekend. I still have 3 weddings left to go until I end my 2008 wedding season. That is a good thing though, it means people hire me all time of the year :-).

My (now) 3 1/2 yr old nephew Andrew. Oh I miss him so much, he lives down in Charlotte,NC. Such a cutie.

Yaddo in Saratoga. What a gorgeous spot. I love going there to relax. I cannot wait to finally get a bridal party there. You can even have your ceremony in the Gardens. For those of you who don't know Yaddo is famous for having its very prestigious artist residencies. Famous artists come here to work on their type of art for a few months. It is so tranquil in the gardens.


Random photo Isaac took during one of our portrait showings. A week after we take a portrait or engagemet session we like to invite any family and friends into our studio to view the photos and have some wine and cheese :-) How cozy!


Last week Isaac and I went on a walk with our Boxer Ruby. We didn't get very far before I started taking photos. Ruby is obsessed with her toys, especially her rope. She will play with it for hours. She has even learned how to throw it up on your lap so you are forced to pick it up and throw it on the ground.

I love this photo. The gray blur on the bottom left is the rope in the air. I was terrified Ruby was going to plow right into me. She isn't the brightest dog!


See what I mean about "bright" she was trying to play with her leash while walking. I love how serious Isaac's face is while Ruby is being... her darling self.


What a stud! I got a catch :-) My doggie is cute too. The day we bought her Isaac had this bandana in the car and we put it on her. Since then it has been hers. Whenever we go on a walk we put the bandana on her so she knows what we are going to do. So now whenever Isaac or I pick up the bandana or her harness she gets so excited because she knows what comes next.

A few weeks ago Isaac, along with our good friend Mark, decided to change out our side door. So they took the old door out and this is what we found. I am no skilled handy(wo)man or anything, but I do know that wall studs are usually not hand cut. The brown stud should be smooth cut, I wonder what the rest of the house would look like if we took off the siding.


This one is an oldy. It dates back to Jan. of 2006 when we had a storefront in downtown Oswego. We took this photo to advertise the art competition we were hosting. It was fun to be able to do things like that in the community, but the overhead of a store was just not worth it, I much prefer meeting you all at my home-studio and coffee shops!

Just because

I have so many projects I have been working on that I haven't had time to get together anything for the blog. I just decided I would write tonight and see how YOU are doing....

So how are you doing?

I feel all too often we get lost in this crazy world and never stop to ask each other how things are. I really want to make more of an effort to ask these important questions.

Isaac and I are just getting off from an amazing week at our church. Last week was our missions conference. There were people from Spain, Bosnia, & Gabon here all week talking with us. We had the privilege of having Joel Martinez from Spain over for dinner on Thursday. He is a missionary to the people in Granada where he started the Sunflower counseling center. With just coming back from the Dominican Republic and now having a jam-packed week with missionaries both Isaac and I are excited about the missions field. Who knows when and where, but we are excited to see where God puts us on this earth. For now we are just loving our business, our house, our friends, our families, and of course all of YOU.

We have a busy schedule lined up for the next two weeks. On November 19th me (Jenna), along with 20 other professional photographers are getting together and having a photo shoot. We are looking for models to come and help us out. This is a great opportunity to get amazing photographs for free... yes I said FREE. We are really looking for a couple to come dressed as a bride and groom. Maybe you didn't have the privilege of having us as your wedding photographers and you didn't get the best images... well NOW is the time to get dazzled up and having some fun! I even have a size 6 wedding gown you can wear if you don't have one yet.

Back on October 18th I had the chance to meet up with a past groomsmen and ring bearor for a family portrait. Dan Shaver was the brother of my June 24th,2006 wedding. It was great to see Jake all grown up, he was a sleeping baby last time I met him:

Monica & Bill Tie the knot

You may remember Monica & Bill from their E-session photos a few months back. Meghan Thomas and I had such a fun time photographing their wedding this past Saturday at Justin's Grill in Syracuse. When she told me she wanted an outside wedding in November I said, "You've got to be crazy"... But Monica was right! The weather was absolutely gorgeous on Saturday, not at all like the Novembers I remember.


Monica is a go getter and a planner, while Bill is a laid back joker. The two are a perfect combination that a couple needs. There were so many favorites that I am currently making a slide show of my 150 favorites that I can't live without, from this wedding. For now here are some the the best of the bests. After the reception was over, since we didn't have any time between the ceremony and reception to take many photos we went over to the MOST in downtown Syracuse. Monica rented out the space for a reasonable rate and we were all allowed to run around all of the exhibits. This was the best after-reception shot we have ever had. I Highly recommend doing something like this if you are having a wedding during the colder months or rainy days.

The bride was still so happy and excited even after the reception is done. Usually everyone is tired and wants to go sit down, but Monica wanted to play hard while at the MOST.


Everyone needed to rest for a moment, they were all tired from playing in the ball pit.


The MOST has this huge play gym with 2 huge slides. I still cannot believe Monica when down the slides in her dress.


Then came the climbing wall...


Once we were done with the inside we went outside I could do a whole night shoot in Armory Square. This is when having a good camera really pays off. only the D700 or D3 could take outside shots at night and get this good of results.


By this point Monica was a real model...
